REVOLVING FIRE-ARM.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 467,558, dated January 26, 1892.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CARLO VON PECKER, a subject of the Emperor of Austria-Hungary, formerly of the city of Triest, now residing at Vienna, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Fire-Arms, (for which I have obtained patent in no country yet,) of which the following is a specification.
The present invention relates to a device especially adapted to revolvers, enabling the bearer by a simple manipulation to fire two shots simultaneously or to give only one shot by pulling the trigger, as heretofore.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a side elevation of a revolver, provided with my improvement. Fig. 2 is a rear elevation. Figs. 3, 4, and 5 are details of the device.
a a are the igniting-pins lodged in the rear part A of the revolver, which are pressed outward a little by springs a’ a’, and which are placed opposite the cartridges placed into the chambers of the cylinder of the revolver.
B is a disk turning on the pin b, which carries two opposite pins c c and, between the same in the same distance from the center, the pin C’. The distance between the two pins c c is equal to the distance of the abovementioned igniting-pins a a, and by turning the disk B they can be brought in a position opposite to each other. The pins c c, as well as the pin c’, are turned inside out with their heads having their thinner parts outside.
The hammer C is arranged behind the disk in the manner ordinarily employed for revolvers, and it can fire two shots simultaneously or one single shot, as will be described hereinafter.
D is the cylinder of the revolver, having the chambers d d and d’ d’ for the reception of the cartridges arranged in such a way that always one exterior and one interior are one above the other—i. e., in one radial line. The disk B is provided, moreover, with four indentations g g, with which a bolt H, actuated by the spring h, engages, said bolt being lodged in the rear of the revolver. Thus I am enabled to place either both pins c c or the pin c’ alone into the line of the hammer. The latter pin may be brought into the higher or lower position, so as to fire the upper or the lower cartridge alone.
In using the revolver the disk b will be turned by hand, in order to bring either both pins c c’ or at will only the pin c’ in line with the hammer.
This device may be applied to hand firearms—as, for instance, to guns and pistols. It is obvious that the details of the construction may be varied in many ways without deviating from the nature of my invention.
Having thus described the same, I claim—
A device for enabling revolvers to fire at will two shots simultaneously or only one, composed of two spring-actuated pins a a, lodged in the rear part of the revolver opposite to the cartridges, and the revolving plate B, carrying the pins c c and the pin c’, provided with notches to be engaged by a spring-bolt H, in combination with the cylinder D of the revolver, wherein the chambers d d and d’ d’ for the cartridges are arranged radially above each other.
