DESIGN FOR REVOLVER CYLINDERS.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY C. WEBB, of Norwich, in the county of New London and State of Connecticut, have originated and Designed a Pattern for the Cylinders of Pocket-Revolvers, of which the following is a full, clear and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, making a part of this specification.
The nature of my design is fully represented in the accompanying drawing, to which reference is made. From this it will be seen that the cylinder is fluted at both ends, the flutes or depressions being arranged between the barrels. This class of cylinders, as now ordinarily made, are either perfectly cylindrical or else fluted longitudinally the entire length of the cylinder; but my design leaves the middle part of the cylinder perfectly plain, fluting only both the ends thereof, in the manner described and shown in the drawing.
At the present state of the art, pocket-revolvers are made with a great degree of finish, so as to be ornamental as well as useful, and it is a desideratum among manufacturers to produce the most elegant and tasteful designs. The cylinder designed by me gives a light and elegant appearance to the pistol of which it forms a part.
What I claim as my invention is–
A cylinder for revolvers, having the ends fluted, substantially in the manner and for the purpose herein shown and specified.
